Sheila Queralt was selected by the IAFL awards committee to receive the M. Teresa Turell Travel Award for presentation of her paper “The Implementation of Likelihood Ratios for the Evaluation of Linguistic Evidence in Forensic Text Comparison“ at the 12th Biennial Meeting of the International Association of Forensic Linguists in Guangzhou, China. This award honors the significant contributions made by Professor Turell to the field of forensic linguistics and is designed to support the work of postgraduate students carrying out research in forensic linguistics or language of the law.
The twelfth Biennial Conference on Forensic Linguistics (Language and Law) of the International Association of Forensic Linguists (IAFL) is going to take place at Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS) in Guangzhou, China from July 6 to July 9, 2015. This is IAFL’s first biennial conference in Asia. The conference theme is Language and Law: Information, Interaction, and Integration. More details can be found on the conference website.
